Jonah Hill Sells Top-Secret Script For Seven Figures

Jonah Hill and writing partner Max Winkler – the son of The Fonz – have sold a top-secret script that only the heads of the major movie studios were allowed to read, titled The Adventurer’s Handbook, for seven figures.  This is according to EW.com.

The film, which centers around four guys in their mid-20s who search for a mythological/secret place, was based on the book called the same thing as the script.  It is a comedy that figures to have a broad reach, which means that Universal should make a ton of money by producing it.

Of course, Universal’s box office return depends a great deal on who the movie studio gets to star as the four friends.  Variety reports that Hill and Jason Schwartzman are on board to star in the film, and they also say that Akiva Schaffer, one-third of The Lonely Island, is in serious talks about directing.

Oh, and whether or not the movie sucks always matters.  There’s always the real chance that the script does indeed suck, especially considering that Hill and Winkler distributed a spec script and no one read it.
