The CW has ordered two additional episodes of Gossip Girl this season, pushing the total number of eps to 24 in season two, EW.com reports. Originally, the higher-ups at the CW flirted with the idea before deciding against it. But now, months after EW.com first reported the information, the CW has decided to go ahead and produce two more in season two.
Great news, right?
The reason for the network’s request is simply Gossip Girl‘s ever-increasing ratings. The show, which is critically hailed and loved by its fans, didn’t see its ratings take off until this season, where they’re up double digits compared to season one.
I just got on the Gossip Girl bandwagon, and even though the name makes me feel a bit uneasy watching it, GG is usually fantastic. Especially when Chuck Bass, one of the best TV characters I’ve seen in a while, is on the screen.
The show is also bleeding into pop culture too…
