Is This It X

It’s been four years since singer/actress Brandy has recorded an album, and I, personally, understand why.

First off, she has other projects like fashion lines and perfumes (I’m guessing, because that seems to be the norm these days with singers) and acting to deal with. 

She also killed a guy in a car accident that made headlines for more than a month.

This is where the lack of recording prowess over the past four years starts to make sense.

A pop star killing a guy makes it awfully hard about singing about your boyfriend leaving or love or any of the garbage they usually sing about.  And it makes it awfully hard to get a record company to finance your album with studio sessions and everything when your image goes from wholesome pop star/actress to irresponsible driver/killer.

But Brandy was in the zone, when it comes to recording.  And she loves the quality of her new album.

“Once you get into a zone, it’s hard to come out,” says Brandy, who will not face criminal charges but still faces a wrongful-death lawsuit that goes to trial in April. “What I experienced in the past couple of years was tough, but I had to face it and find the strength to move forward. Connecting back with music has definitely helped me through everything. Once I got back in the studio, the butterflies went away.”

Wait, where have I heard that before?

Oh yeah, everybody with their life ripped apart by the media who goes through something horrific.

It’s always the same answers because all Brandy probably does all day is go shopping or sit in her house and watch her brother’s sex tape with Kim Kardashian. 

I mean, it’s good for people to get their minds off of terrible things that happen in their lives through working.  It’s what most Americans do, and it’s what, for example, Kanye did with his recent album.

After his mom died, he grieved and all that for a while and then went to work. First by touring the country.  And then making his new album. 

It’s what people do. 

Anyways, if you’re reading this, you’re likely a Brandy fan or knew the dude she killed.  So, the news regarding her return is that her new album – “Human” – will come out on December 9.

It will likely have a theme that says “I’m  Human,” as if we needed a reminder that she has a pancreas.
